The Kohtla-Järve City Administration has issued a permit for the reconstruction of the former kindergarten building on Pärna Street into a hotel.
The sewing company Nirgi Servis, which primarily produces sportswear for the Norwegian brand Trimtex, has operated in the former kindergarten building for almost 30 years, writes “Severnoe Poberezhje”.
The owner and head of the company, Gulzalina Zehhtunova, told the publication that due to the economic crisis and a decrease in production volumes in 2023, the company was forced to close its operations in Kohtla-Järve and concentrate all production in Narva, where about 35 people are currently employed.
“Since there have been discussions for many years about the need for a hotel in Kohtla-Järve, I decided that this is an excellent location for a hotel, as the new sports center and cultural center are in close proximity,” she explained.
According to the owner of the company, the hotel is planned to have 62 accommodations and a café with an open terrace, providing jobs for seven to eight people.
